WiiWare is TotaWii SWiit!

My Friend Jesse sent me this WiiWare article you should check out. Basically the article states that Nintendo will open the Wii Game system to independent video-game developers in 2008 to be sold through Wii Shop Channel.

Nintendo President, Reggie Fils-Aime, said “Independent developers armed with small budgets and big ideas will be able to get their original games into the marketplace to see if we can find the next smash hit,”

I think this is pretty sweet and would introduce new opportunities for web apps and things similar to Glue. One idea is a channel to exclusive website and videos or possibly a channel based on viewing security cameras. Web apps coupled with the Wii-mote could be pretty freaking sweet. Kudos to Nintendo for making this possible.
